Florida Scholars Academy (FSA) won the People’s Choice Award in a statewide welding and fabrication competition marking America’s 250th Anniversary Statewide Welding and Fabrication Challenge, hosted by the Florida Department of Education.

The statewide competition highlighted student welding programs and their craftsmanship through custom metalwork inspired by the nation’s 250th anniversary.

FSA’s entry features an American flag design accented with stars and the phrase “Home of the Brave.”

Entries were evaluated by Florida Education Commissioner Anastasios “Stasi” Kamoutsas for craftsmanship, creativity, and connection to the theme. Public voting, which concluded June 19, also contributed to selecting the People’s Choice winner.
